Englische Inhaltsangabe der Regisseurin:
Characters of the film – Hannusya and Dmytro – inhabit a remote village hidden in the midst of the Carpathian Mountains. Dmytro and Hanussya have been married for over thirty years. Defending the independence of Ukraine, Dmytro has lost his leg. The life of the family has changed ever since. Hanussia started to carry the burden of difficult rural life. Their daughter Marijka, in spite of her High Education, had to go to Poland looking for a job, leaving behind two kids - Vasilko and Anychka - to be brought up by their grandparents. Dmytro found the way to cope with his injury.
A lot has happened during those years. The grandchildren have grown up. Vasyl’ko has learnt to speak. Only one thing has remained the same: the rules which govern the life of Dmytro and Hanusya. Their power in love: one to another, to children, to their homeland, to people. This is what makes them the keepers of the life-code, which is passed down from generation to generation, regardless war, political and economic crisis. Even now in a pandemic situation they are unbroken and calm like mountains around them.
I’ve shared their lifestyle for some time, living with them while working on this film. And I have got a feeling that time slows down there and every detail gets a whole new meaning. There is a special rhythm of existence, everyday life is in harmony with yourself and your surrounding...
Visual approach is Meditative view on the day-to-day life. The flow of physical time, carries along the structure of the film. The life of the family is tied to the yearly cycle. The periods of activity alternate with quiet periods, during the cold months of the year. Scenes of the family-life, which are strung together, are intertwined into a story, which broadcasts a globally-humane experience of continuity. Mode of life broadcaststo being.
I want to show the flow of their life similar the poetry.
